Apr 7 2012 - 3:00pm
Etc/GMT-7
Location:
Downieville, California

Join us for our first Trail Daze event of 2012, where we will be working in Downieville on the spectacular North Yuba Trail; a 17- mile singletrack trail that winds it's way through the heavily forested Yuba River Canyon and connects Downieville, Goodyears Bar and Indian Valley.

The focus of the trail work will be on tread widening, drainage construction, root wad removal, cutting out deadfall, and trimming back brush from the trail corridor. The work site will most likely be located between Downieville and Goodyears Bar, but is dependent upon Mother Nature and the snow load.

This event marks the 1- year anniversary of the "Official Grand Opening" for the North Yuba Trail and will be celebrated accordingly. For starters, our friends from Under Cover Ale Works in Blairsden CA will be providing the adult beverages. We look forward to hosting you in Downieville on April 7th.

Special thanks to Matt "Matty D" Dambrov from the Law Office of Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean. Matt and his company adopted the North Yuba Trail and are committed to supporting Trail Daze events and caring for the Downieville Trail System.

Nov 12 2011 - 3:00pm
Etc/GMT-7
Location:
Lake Davis Trail

Sorry guys. This trail day is cancelled due to snow. Join us for our next trail day in December.

Lake Davis was "the" economic engine for the town of Portola, featuring world-class trout fishing in a serene and incredible high mountain setting. Fisherman from all over the west came in hopes of landing a Lake Davis trophy trout.

But, since the second poisoning of Lake Davis (for invasive Pike fish, by California Fish & Game), the town of Portola has struggled with it's identity and it's economy.

And the lake and surrounding area has gone under utilized by recreation enthusiasts.  Read More »

Saturday will be a Trail Daze event and we'll be working on a section of the Pacific Crest Trail from Bucks Summit, heading north towards Spanish Peak. Work will focus on brushing, deadfall removal, tread widening and off-sloping, and the construction of rolling dips and drains. All fun stuff when you're doing it with fun people!

Sunday we'll ride and hike the Southpark Trail System, located just north of Quincy at the base of Mount Hough. Southpark offers miles of flowy wooded singletrack, with a sweet descent to Spanish Creek and the Cascades; a series of waterfalls that only a few of the gnarliest local kayakers have ever survived.
