Metal Mike Enters the Hall of Fame

SBTS would like to make a formal announcement that Metal Mike, aka Mike Haire, has been inducted into the SBTS Hall of Fame. What is the Hall of Fame you ask? It's a special place(and page on our site) for volunteers who have consistently gone above and beyond for the Stewardship, giving countless selfless hours to build trail and more. Metal Mike has not only been a consistent volunteer since the beginning, but goes the extra mile by supervising new volunteers on the trail, helping provide DJ tunes for night time party time, performing as MC at our Epic Raffles, and bringing up all his AV equipment to make sure that our parties are not only well stocked with beer, but well equipped with Dancefloor readiness. Metal, all of us here at SBTS want to say a huge thanks for all you do, and for always take one for the team .... like that time you drove shuttles in 2006 the day we opened Sunrise Trail. Your efforts do not go un-noticed. Thanks again, and welcome to the Hall of Fame.

WOW, I don't know what to

WOW, I don't know what to say. I do all that because you are all my BEST friends and I do that not only for the Stewardship, but for you guys alone. I like helping out with the events to be a great time and I will continue to pour my time and effort into future Trail Daze and Epics. I get a lot of satisfaction (not sexual....knuckleheads!) seeing everyone have a lot of fun at my dance parties. I'm sorry for being absent Saturday night, but I bought tickets to The Smothers Bros show in GV several months prior. I kinda grew up on their comedy and they are getting old, so may have been the only time I could see them in my home town. It was a really great show. I hope you all understand....

Metal, you are the man. Who else could pull off a Dick & Tommy reference like that? I never knew i could be proud of growing up on the smothers brothers too. You have liberated my 70's angst. Sorry I wasnt at Grayeagle to toast you, but let's just say your induction vote was UNANIMOUS. Rock on, DJMIXNUTZ

Mike, it is great to see you recognized for all your hard work on the SBTS trail projects. Your mother and I are really proud of you. Thanks also to all the SBTS members for all the work they are doing to build new trails and preserve the old ones. Maybe some day we will make it to one of the work days.
