LA PORTE, CALIFORNIA – Join us for the first annual trail work and Hartman Bar clean-up party on Saturday and Sunday, October 23rd and 24th. If you love the Middle Fork of the Feather River, come help make a difference in this beautiful area.Volunteers will meet at the South Hartman Bar Trailhead, 31 miles from the town of Feather Falls, and will depart for trail maintenance projects from there. All of the food, tools and after work party on Saturday will be provided to volunteers for the day. Due to the remote location of the trail maintenance, volunteers should expect to hike up to 9 miles roundtrip over moderate to difficult terrain. For those that want a hardy day of hiking, a river clean up will take place at the end of the trail at Hartman Bar. Join us! RSVP at the bottom of this post for our October Trail Daze event where we will be working in Downieville. Specific trail projects to be determined, but there will likely be work on the Divides and the North Yuba trail.Meet at Yuba Expeditions at 9:30 am.After a day of work in Downieville, will all celebrate at the St Charles Bar afterwords for Halloween. For those of you who have never been to Downieville during Halloween, it's not to be missed. The town comes alive!Bagels and coffee will be served from 9-9:30am. Lunch and an after work BBQ will also be part of the fun. Expect to be out for about 5 or 6 hours, before the prospect of cold beer and more food lures everyone back to town. Bring some work gloves, a backpack, layers, and some enthusiasm. Working on this trail requires a two mile hike in and out. All are welcome. No experience necessary.
