June 7th Trail Daze (National Trail Day)

Jun 7 2008 - 9:00pm
Etc/GMT-8
Location:
Lakes Basin - Smith Lake Trail and Long Lake Trail

Join us for National Trail Day on June 7th, 2008. We will be working in solidarity with hundreds of other trail groups across the nation to enhance our local routes. Since summer has arrived, we will be staging this work day in the high country of the Plumas National Forest. Special SBTS crew shirts will be given to all volunteers.

Trail Daze are a great way to get out, suck down some fresh mountain air, and perform some much needed restoration and repair on our local trails. Lunch fixings will be provided for all volunteers. Bring some work gloves (and if anyone has any spare pulaskis, McLeod, or loppers lying around, bring them, too) and some enthusiasm. Any and all are welcome.

Logistics

  • Meet at the Smith Lake/Mt. Elwell Trailhead next to the Grayeagle Lodge in Lakes Basin. Take Gold Lake Road which connects highway 49 and 89 between Bassetts and Graeagel. Turn west at gravel entrance road for the Grayeagle Lodge. Just before the lodge turn right into the parking area for the marked trailhead.
  • Orientation/Sign up/Lunch Packing between 9-9:30am
  • Lunch fixings will be provided for you to pack in the morning
  • Expect to be out for about 5 or 6 hours, before the prospect of cold beer and more food lures everyone back to the trailhead.
  • BBQ provided at end of Trail Daze
