The spring Mountain Epic is presented by our friends at Santa Cruz Bicycles. Thanks SCB!

Join us for our Mountain Epic weekend in beautiful Indian Valley, located 10 miles downstream of Downieville on the sandy banks of the North Yuba River. In typical Mountain Epic fashion, we’re gearing up for a fun-filled, family-friendly weekend of recreating, relaxing, BBQ-ing, camping under the stars, and restoring sweet Sierra singletrack.

This spring’s Mountain Epic route starts and ends at Indian Valley Camp Ground and includes an out and back to Downieville on the North Yuba Trail, with an added bonus of the Divide Loop for those that are feeling their oats. We’ve offered this route in the past and it was a great adventure with a ton of singletrack. The out and back to Downieville is 31 miles with 5,400’ of elevation gain. If you throw in the bonus loop, the route becomes 47 miles with 7,500’ of gain. Both routes are 95% singletrack.

To make the ride more enjoyable, we’ll have a fully stocked aid station in Goodyears Bar and a lunch stop in Downieville at the Yuba Expeditions bike shop. Ah yes, another bonus of being an SBTS member; ride support and lunch fixins along the way! For those arriving in Downieville with nothing left in their legs, we’ll have a complimentary Yuba shuttle returning to Indian Valley.

Once everyone returns to camp, we’ll have a big-time BBQ and prize drawings with a competition for the grand prize. For those 21 and over, we’ll be drinking cold beer from Under Cover Ale Works. A perfect Sierra blend and a great way to celebrate the trails we’ve all worked so hard to build and maintain.
Sunday’s Trail Daze work day will feature two separate trail projects: one on the North Yuba Trail near the town of Goodyears Bar, and another in downtown Downieville constructing a pathway along the North Yuba River.

KID ALERT!
Our Trail Kids crew will be on-site with fun adventures planned for the little ones. Trail Kids is open to youth ages 5-11 who want to play games, learn about the trails and use tools that are just their size. Read more here…..
