North Yuba Trail Construction Progress

North YubaThe Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS) has been working non stop all winter to complete what is known as the North Yuba Trail Extension. The Extension will connect Downieville to the lower North Yuba Trail which travels downstream from Goodyears Bar. The new section of trail will be 7 miles long and is a non-motorized multi-use trail with the added advantage that it connects directly to town where a trailhead facility is being developed. The trailhead facility will include bathrooms and parking, helping to free up parking in downtown. Since the trail is located at a lower elevation than many trails in the area, the season will be greatly extended. It is expected this will provide much needed additional business to merchants, lodgings and restaurants by bringing in customers during the traditional slow time.  Read More »

SBTS May Epic 2007 @ Bullards Bar

Mountain Epics are free to all SBTS members* and allow us to enjoy the trails we work hard to maintain all year. It's our way of saying thanks to all of you - party style. Epics include meals, camping, group led rides, hiking, and usually a few special treats. We have 2 per year and they are always fantastic. It's basically impossible not to have a ridiculously good time with folks such as yourselves. RSVP  Read More »

Trail Daze #33 | North Yuba Extension

North Yuba Trail Daze 2008A showing of 19 amazing volunteers showed up and did the work of probably 40 men and women. Our crew was one of the most productive that we've ever had... probably because 90% were all seasoned Trail Daze volunteers with more than 10 Trail Daze events under their belts. We got a couple new additions including Artek, David, and Sean, who came out for his second Trail Daze ever, which was great. Quincy really rules when it comes to bringing fun, unique, talented people to the crew. The extension is looking great and we made a lot of progress. A bit more to go until it's complete, but we made a big dent in the work load. Thanks to Sarge, Greg, Dave O, David from the Hub, Henry, Wayno, Troy , Beevis, Van, Todd, Sean, Melinda, Chris, Ron, Tim, Nica, Brett + Artek. Also, shout out to the Hub who provided the food for this event.  Read More »
