Adopt-A-Trail Program

trail signThe Adopt-A-Trail Program is a way for individuals and businesses to take leadership role in the maintenance of the trails in Sierra and Plumas Counties, through both a monetary and/or time commitment.

Guidelines for this program are listed below, but can be flexible to accommodate all interested parties. Our goal is to involve people who are invested in these trail systems, through whatever creative means necessary. Some examples of other ways to contribute to this program include: donation of product for raffle, donation of vacation rentals to house volunteers, and donation of tools for trail work.

Adopt-A-Trail Guidelines

  • 2-5 year commitment
  • monetary commitment based on trail & number of users ($1,ooo - $5,ooo)
  • adopter must host one Trail Daze work day per year which they organize (SBTS will provide tools and guidance if need be)

Adoption benefits

  • preservation of historic trails and in some cases, construction of new trails
  • trailhead sign posting. The adopting organization will receive trailhead signs, listing them as the trail supporter. These signs are official USFS, wood routed and hand painted.
