Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship

What We Are
The Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of trails, and the access to those trails, in and around the Sierra Buttes area. It is our goal to preserve, restore, and enhance the trails of this region in an environmentally sensitive and ecologically responsible fashion – by using low impact and aesthetically considerate practices to reduce erosion and watershed contamination - so that they can withstand the demands of an increasing number of recreational users. Preservation of access for all use groups is of paramount importance to us, as is maintaining a sense of historical perspective.

Upcoming Epic: Halls Ranch/Norh Yuba/Fiddle Creek

That right, it's called an Epic for a reason...RSVP

Join us May 17th and 18th for our 10th Mountain Epic, sponsored by Marin Bikes.

In addition to the usual epic madness, Marin will be providing its demo bike fleet, featuring the latest Quad XC, Quad Trail and Quad XLT full suspension bike along with Marin Bikes staff to provide professional tuning tips. We will also have pro 24 hour and endurance racer Yuri Hauswald on hand for coaching.

trail news:
The North Yuba Extension will be done by May, with your help…

Why all the excitement about the North Yuba Extension?

  • It's the only non-motorized trail in the Downieville area
  • Once completed, it will span from Downieville to Rocky Rest
  • We will be riding it for the May Epic

We are committed to finishing this trail this month – but we need your help to do it.
Anyone who can come up in April will get a free paid vacation(food & housing) in exchange for some volunteer trail work hours with us. Our trail builders(Wayno, Greg, Troy & Henry) will be out there every day pushing this project through, so you can join them during the week or weekend – whatever your schedule will allow. Those who can get up there this month will make the difference. We will have a new trail this season thanks to you!
Email Wayno to coordinate a visit or call the Yuba House 530-289-2766.
Lets make this vision a reality!
